engineering bio

Nicole strives to integrate sustainability, wellness and high-performance engineering design on all of her projects. She reaches across disciplines to find simple and cost-effective solutions to complex, technical challenges.

Her dozen years of experience as a mechanical engineer and project manager in the Bay Area has included Living and WELL Building certified projects, and dozens of LEED spaces. She is a leader in the natural refrigerant field, with projects ranging from Oakland Unified School District’s commissary to a flagship grocery store for Amazon Whole Foods in Silicon Valley. She has expertise in healthy air design including filtration and post-occupancy monitoring and controls, as exemplified by SERA Architect’s Oakland office designed to meet WELL, LEED and RESET Air standards.

In 2019, she was an instructor/developer at both the USGBC GreenerBuilder Conference in San Francisco and the USGBC Greenbuild Conference in Atlanta.

In 2020, she completed mech engineering & mech/elec/plumb/photovoltaic/energy project management on a design project for Kaiser in Santa Rosa, CA. This project is the first demonstrated (measured, verified) net-zero healthcare facility in the U.S. per the Department of Energy. Nicole stamped and signed as mechanical & plumbing engineer.

In 2021, she served on the International WELL Building Institute's newest advisory, the 2021 IWBI Performance advisory.

Most recently, she led engineering construction projects for Citi at One Market Street in San Francisco, and for Fremont Group, also a finance client, in downtown San Francisco. The LEED Gold Citi One Market Street space is often shown on CNBC TV.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. She has continued her education by taking courses at UC Berkeley, attending industry events, and by maintaining her professional credentials.
